Dr. Michael Newtons Early Research
Dr. Michael Newton, a consummate behavioral psychologist ,was a scientist and researcher who originally proclaimed to be a skeptic of reincarnation and the afterlife. His intuitive approach and compassion helped to change that skepticism to a sense of trust, as he witnessed and recorded the deep seated memories that were spontaneously arising from client sessions; the memories he claims were “too real and connected to be ignored”. After 25 years of documenting and researching these amazing sessions, he eventually shared his work with the world to develop a model of the spiritual realm that was based on over 7000 separate cases over a span of 35 years. Through his meticulous research he gathered a working map of the purpose of life and incarnation, which continues to inspire hundreds of thousands of people worldwide, offering a truth that resonates deeply with many.

The Michael Newton Institute is dedicated to continuing research of this profound phenomenon called Life Between Lives Hypnotherapy, as founded by Dr. Michael Newton. LBL Facilitators from all around the world (40 countries & 25 languages) offer LBL sessions to individuals from all walks of life and present their case studies and articles in MNI’s Stories of the Afterlife Journal and our publications, including Wisdom of Souls, Memories of the Afterlife, and Little Book of Life Between Lives.

Research FAQ
How many cases of LBL have been recorded?
Dr. Michael Newton’s original work was founded on over 7,000 cases, from diverse clients who all reported similar experiences when remembering the Life Between Lives state. These foundational cases and the consistent self-reports enabled him to build the map of the afterlife.
The Institute and its LBL facilitator network, have also continued to conduct LBL cases with a wide variety of individuals all around the world. The Institute’s data currently shows that over 55,000 LBL sessions have been facilitated worldwide to date, and this figure grows every year.
What does LBL research tell us about our lives on Earth?
LBL research is expanding our awareness to the purpose of our earthly incarnations. Each incarnation is designed to teach us more about who we truly are as a Soul, our purpose for being here and sometimes, who we chose to be with in this life. For this reason, Earth is often spoken of as a school – Earth School. Some classes on Earth are exhilarating, some are daunting and for most of us, there is a diverse mixture of both scattered throughout a lifetime journey here. As with any school, all experiences have a deeper purpose which we as souls utilize to enable deep personal and soul growth which we have chosen for ourselves. After our Earth Life, the Soul returns to the loving harmony awaiting in the afterlife. What does LBL research tell us about ‘the other side’ or the afterlife?
What is most consistent in the reports of individuals who have accessed the life between life state is that a loving home awaits us all. A home where only pure, unconditional love, compassion and harmony exist, where souls support and encourage each other to grow and develop towards greater consciousness.
For many, the LBL experience is most profoundly remembered for the complete state of acceptance and unconditional love shown to them on their return to the higher realms and that this is offered to all people, regardless of their life journey and the paths they chose.
What research does MNI Undertake?
Many of our LBL Facilitators are ‘explorers’ as they connect and interact with the spiritual realm in client LBL sessions. MNI also incorporates a vital research program to continue the work Dr. Newton has inspired. Our research program invites our LBL Facilitator community to explore, investigate and understand the bountiful, untapped knowledge about the Afterlife and more. Research is being done on the impact LBL’s have on the lives of people, including enhancement of the quality of life, and the positive impact it has on client views of death and dying. Further exploration into the purpose of various life experiences and their connection to the world such as the Covid-19 pandemic is in progress. The Research committee offers the MNI members and its clients a path for further investigation into spiritual and transformational subjects on all levels of awareness. We are hoping to awaken the world to the beauty and bounty of connecting the mind with body and spirit.
